“When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.” Haruki Murakami

Judging from emails I have received over the past week, the tide of change is well and truly hitting us all!

There are a lot of decisions to be made and actions to be taken. At such a time, it is easy to become overwhelmed by these strong energies. It can feel lonely and it is quite common to feel ungrounded.

One very important thing to remember at this time, is to hold to YOUR Truth and to YOUR Self.

While there is a huge drive for change, be sure you only make changes YOU believe would be positive to make. Only make changes for YOURself. Don’t adhere to constraints, internal or external.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment” Ralph Waldo Emerson

There are so many messages in the collective consciousness- the media, magazines, TV, films, the fashion industry, the list goes on…- telling us all that we are not enough. That we MUST change and essentially become someone that we are not.

When we get to a point where we feel something in our lives has to change, it can seem easier to look outside of ourselves to find the answer as to what needs to be altered. Looking for support is great, looking for commands from someone else however, could be detrimental.

The collective consciousness has bled into every part of our lives from the moment we were born- there are unhealthy messages about mind, body and spirit masquerading as health everywhere you look. And most people who buy into these messages have no idea how they are all programmed beliefs, and indeed have no idea how controlled their minds are.

There are so many industries who benefit from you ignoring your inner knowing, ignoring common sense such as if you are pushing your body/mind/spirit to any extreme, it is unhealthy. Challenging yourself is good, pushing yourself to any extreme is not. These industries benefit from you not questioning their messages and ‘facts’. They benefit when you do not embrace and own your innate knowledge. They benefit from you allowing yourself to be disempowered that way. You, of course, do NOT benefit from this!

“What is necessary to change a person is to change his awareness of himself.” Abraham Maslow

Throughout February, we were all shown patterns and behaviours that had been holding us back or were keeping us ‘stuck’. Now that the awareness is there, it is time to action change.

Be sure the changes you make are beneficial to you and come from within you, not from some outside mind that has ulterior motives. Engage with your inner knowing. Give yourself permission to check in with yourSelf before you make any changes.

A useful tool to help counteract external programming can be to use an affirmation that you come up with, so your mind can be reprogrammed by you!

Coming up with an affirmation:

  • Question where you feel you can be sensitive to the collective consciousness beliefs that you know are not in alignment with yours and write out a list of them
  • Write an affirmation that counteracts these messages- that affirms the messages you believe in
  • Always use positive language
  • Write your affirmation on a colourful piece of paper, decorate it, pour love into making it, and stick it somewhere you will see it every day

I came up with this one for myself this month:

“I am enough, just as I am. I am worthy of joy, happiness, love, contentment, and anything I seek. Just as I am. I do not need to change because others say I need to change. I only change for myself.”

I suggest you use your affirmation as a daily mantra throughout March.

“You have a right to experiment with your life. You will make mistakes. And they are right too. No, I think there was too rigid a pattern. You came out of an education and are supposed to know your vocation. Your vocation is fixed, and maybe ten years later you find you are not a teacher anymore or you’re not a painter anymore. It may happen. It has happened. I mean Gauguin decided at a certain point he wasn’t a banker anymore; he was a painter. And so he walked away from banking. I think we have a right to change course. But society is the one that keeps demanding that we fit in and not disturb things. They would like you to fit in right away so that things work now.” Anaïs Nin

Now is the time for us to dig deep, find courage, and action change in our lives. It is a time for courage and strength because we humans have been made to feel fear of the unknown and indeed, of being our true selves. But in Truth, there is nothing to fear. You know everything you need to. Listen to the part of you that Knows. See and cherish all that is working for you and let the rest go.

Now is the time to step forward- without attachment to outcome. We need to use our fears as a catalyst for transformation instead of a reason to stand still. Be brave, move forward and know there are many others around the world right there with you, actioning this energetic change!
