Under Pressure
Wow, what a time it is! I am sure there are many of you feeling the excitement, the apprehension, the ups, the downs…the heavy-handed push from the immense energies of the moment!!
This post had actually started as a response to one of the many emails I got in the last couple of weeks from people feeling the questions ‘what do I do?’ ‘am I going crazy?’ ‘is this my last chance?’ and just generally ‘what the heck is going on?!’
As I was writing, I realised my reply had turned into a message that I feel was not only meant for the person I was writing to but for myself and also, I feel, for many of us at this time- so here we are!
It seems many of us are feeling we are at a turning-point, a fork in the road, a chance for momentous change… However you are seeing it, it feels that this is indeed the energy right now- on a global scale in politics where terrible lies are being believed by a disturbing and worrying amount of people and being condemned by a heartening number of people, in the unrest and also in the huge coming together within communities of all kinds across the world, and of course on the micro-level within each of us in relation to our own personal journeys. We are seeing and feeling ‘the muck’ within and without so we can engage with it however we see fit- either through living in it or transforming it.
I think it’s a huge time of opportunity to clear past patterns, memories, thoughts, experiences and to bring in new patterns and happenings more in-line with what we are really here for- our individual purpose, yes, but in a broader way, the fact we are all here to live our lives as we want. Not within the conditioned moral system we were brought up to believe in but in the one that is truthful to each of us as individual, unique beings.
I know I, and every client and friend I have spoken to, are feeling this immense drive for delving deep and transforming. So just know that it is all within the cycle and you are not alone- you are totally in tune with the flow of life, and that is awesome!
Know also that it can feel really overwhelming and ‘huge’ or ‘epic’! I know a lot of people I have spoken to, feel like it is their ‘last’ opportunity to shift and change. This is not a viewpoint that resonates at all with me! I think we always, in every moment, have an opportunity to do things differently- whether that’s ‘positive’ or ‘negative’ for our situation- at any time. I just think now is a time we are really supported (and by that I mean being pushed if I’m totally honest about how it feels right now!!) in making changes that are really contributing to our growth. Whether the change is seemingly negative or positive, it will always help us grow.
What I’m trying to say is, it can feel like an overwhelming amount of pressure is on us right now but don’t feel rushed into making decisions. You have time. Create space for yourself and take the time to really breathe and figure out what in your life needs to physically change and also what in your life needs a perception change instead.
In a world that can be judgmental and cynical, have the intelligence and courage to just be you. To express every facet of yourself in your daily life- that means acknowledging the bits you want to change, accepting the shadows we all live with, seeing the bits we know aren’t ‘for the best’ but we aren’t ready to let go of… It’s all ok.
We’re all asleep no matter how awake we are, and all awake no matter how asleep we are! We are all human, living our individual and collective dreams. And that’s quite a beautiful, joyous and wonderful situation to be in!

As I have included Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie, I couldn’t finish this post without writing a few words about the inspiration incarnate that was David Bowie.

David Bowie is someone who brought so much inspiration and joy to the world. He was honest and sincere with his art, a true visionary. He gave me so much hope and filled this world with so much beauty. Thank you to him for his stellar presence in this world that has felt so dark at times and for continuing to bring this light through the incredible ‘Blackstar’.

Resounding Power 
Growth , Change , Acceptance , Being … Thank you Laura x You inspire me towards the Light x
So nice to be reading you after a long while, Laura. Since your absence was a trifle long, I thought you were lost among the colours of spring in Ireland, or wherever you musically are right now. It is always tough to zoom in on the right option at time’s threshold or at the crossroad of life. It is equally difficult to break open the cage of convention and steer life through radically newer pathways. Yet we are all trying to do things in our own ways by opening out to as much freshness as we can. I soaked in linking to Queen’s and David Bowie’s audio paintings. If sounds can paint, these are very much an epitome of an audio-visual experience. Best wishes…xxx.
Thank you for this lovely message, Laura. It resonated! I have been feeling this quickening or intensity of creative desire perhaps to an extreme that is not so wonderful. Putting these things into the perspective of recognizing the value in each moment, each encounter, each calling is helpful…
