January Meditation- Letting Go of Thought

This month’s theme, Thought Creates Reality, is about us all deciding what we want our reality to look like and manifesting that. For this reason, I felt that this month it would be best to not create a guided meditation but just a musical piece that you can meditate to. That way you can allow yourSelf to fully go to where you need to go.

It may be helpful to first read through the following steps before hitting play and have a notebook and pen beside you for after.

  • Put down a yoga mat, a meditation cushion or find a comfortable chair that you can sit upright in
  • During meditation, sit or lie in a comfortable position with a blanket around you
  • Make sure the area is quiet and that you will not be disturbed for the next twenty to thirty minutes
  • Light a candle and as you do, set your intention
  • Take a few deep, cleansing breaths, allowing your mind to calm
  • “I want to let go of distractions and the physical world. I want to retreat within.”
  • When you are ready, press play and allow the music to take you away
  • Allow! There is no ‘wrong’. Your experience is perfect.
  • When you have finished listening, allow yourself some breathing time. Time to be totally quiet and within yourSelf.
  • When you come back to the present, physical world, write down any thoughts or feelings that came up or that you are left with

Keeping a daily journal can be very helpful in recognising thought patterns.

Perhaps you will see some you want to change and it gives you the chance to acknowledge the ones that are a positive force in your life too.

Watch your thoughts. Notice the ones that are not in alignment with how you want to be. Set forth the thoughts and habits you would like to replace them.

Thought creates reality; make sure you are creating your optimal world!
